Whenever I install what seems like an endless, at least bi-monthly number of Windows 10 updates, it defaults my wired desktop to WiFi. The only way I can see to get back to a wired connection is to go to Network settings and turn off WiFi. Then my desktop reverts to the wired setting. Meanwhile, without any warning, all the details from File Explorer have disappeared- it just shows boxes with no details in Documents, Downloads, etc. This I can solve by signing out and signing back in or restarting. As I have previously stated, this free version of Windows 10 that was given away back in 2015 generates no income for Microsoft so the end result is lazy, irresponsible programming filled with errors which is why the updates have become more and more frequent.
