Windows 10 "Windows 10 version 1803 for x64 based Systems cumulative update 2018-05 causes Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 to stop responding

Since the latest update to Windows 10, attempting video playback on Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 causes it to stop responding. Not helpful!

Any ideas?
