Windows 10 Virus Scan on downloads from Browser, tried both the latest IE browser & Google Chrome, same result

There was an update about 2 months ago, post that update I cannot download any files due to detection of Virus. I went into McAfee turned off the active virus scan tried to download and still had the problem, so it has to be Windows not my other virus scan. Please let us know what to do. I am not installing another virus scan, this has to resolve within the Windows software. Thanks, Karen *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
