Windows 11 Windows 11 not allowing me to play games or showing any of my external SSDS

I decided to upgrade to windows 11 about 2 months ago and now whenever i try to open any game it fails and afterwards my SSDS don't show up anymore and it's showing the games are no longer installed until i restart my pc. (on steam)also sometimes when i open file explorer i can only see the home tab but it never loads anything.I've already tried a virus scan with windows defender and that didn't work.i'm currently installing a update while i make this post so i hope that helps.
