Help please with Windows 7 (32 bit) on my custom desktop pc.
I had to disconnect my main pc and my backup pc as my windows (the glass ones LOL) were being replaced. After re-hooking everything back up my main pc worked fine. But my backup pc no sooner boots up than a minute later it shuts down. Restarting it, it says Windows did not shut down properly and gives me the option of safe mode, etc or start windows normally.
Can't even do Windows updates as it shuts down before it can download and install even a small update.
Starting windows normally the same thing happens all over again. I've checked power settings and changed most to never or 30 minutes. Still shuts down after 1 min.
If I start in safe mode there is NO shutdown. The note from Microsoft says if the problem doesn't occur in safe mode there is NO problem with default settings, basic device drivers and services.
I've tried the repair disk options Fix startup problems. Still shuts down.
I've restored the pc back 2 months. Still happens.
Disconnected USB devices. Still happens.
Don't have a system image to restore to.
Yesterday installed Win 7 (again 32 bit) to a second hard drive already in the pc (that had my old windows XP on it). Booted into that second HDD, still happens.
It's probably something so stupid I'm going to be embarrassed to hell when I find out what's wrong.
Anybody help?
Thx
