I did a fresh install of Windows 7 and received this error code 0x80072F8F while trying to activate windows 7 home premium. There are lot of root causes available on internet but the best solution is to simply activate it using the automated phone system. That will help you save many hours. If you are based in India, Indian numbers wont work. Choose USA in the country list and that will display a US toll free number. Call that number using mobile app Skype.
