McAfee transferred (with little fanfare) incoming firewall functions to Windows Defender. I did a GRC Shields-Up test and ports are still reported as "Stealth", but incoming ping requests are not blocked and are responded to. I have blocked ICMPv4-In, and v6-in in Core Networking Diagnostics -ICMP Echo and in File and Printer Sharing - Echo Request yet Ping requests are not ignored. From what I read these ping requests should be ignored by default.I am now wondering if the hand-off from McAfee to Windows Defender did something and Defender is not fully in control of inbound.
