I've been using windows handwriting input for over a year now. I depend heavily on it for everyday work and love it. I had high hopes that improvements to the functionality would continue to come and that my experience would only get better. I did run completely through the training recognition module, although it didn't make any real difference. I was pretty happy with how it worked, although its insistence on using dictionary words was annoying, especially since there's no fast way to add words to the dictionary. I've turned off

But within the last couple of months it has started behaving vey unreliably and is almost completely unusable. It re-converts text that's already been converted as I write additional words in the panel, recombining combining everything into one long word that doesn't even remotely match what I wrote in. It often rearranges the order of words that I type. It seems like there's been a change in how it wants to try to insert text, in that if I write a sentence or two somewhere in the document and then click somewhere else in the document, it inserts what I've already written again instead of starting over. Most worrisome is that it sometimes deletes entire chunks of existing text in my document when I click to place the cursor in the middle of a paragraph.

I joined the windows beta program to receive a feature experience pack that was supposed to improve the reliability of handwriting recognition, but it didn't help at all.

As long as I'm writing a dictionary word, its accuracy is insanely good, even if I purposefully try to write atrociously. So I know it's not just a recognition problem. But that's no help when three words later it scrambles my entire sentence into the word "hammersmith" or something ludicrous like that.

Does anyone have any ideas what on earth is going on or what I can delete and reinstall to try to fix it? Thanks in advance.
