I recently bought a gaming laptop less than 2 months ago, the problem in question only started happening the past few days where, when playing games (on Steam) my FPS will drop to 10-20FPS instead of it being a consistent 60FPS previous. In Addition, to this I've also noticed in the Task Manager the windows process Desktop Windows Manager is using 80% of my GPU and RAM. Aswell as that my Windows Home screen has become slow and laggy when opening or closing applications.
Things I've tired so far:
Any help anyone can give me on the problem that is occuring would be greatly appreciated.

Things I've tired so far:
- Ran applications such as Malwarebytes, CCleaner, Kaspersky and Windows defender all didn't detect anything.
- Used commands in CMD such as DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth , SFC /scannow which both came back with nothing wrong.
- I turned the Desktop Windows Manager service from high to low pripority.
- Did a full System restore point to 3 days previous which fixed it for a full day but the problem re occured the next day.
- Restarted my laptop multiple times with a clean boot.
- Checked the integrity of the steam client application to make sure it wasn't that.
Any help anyone can give me on the problem that is occuring would be greatly appreciated.
