Windows 11 windows live mail can't connect to outlook.com

I've just got an outlook.com account & email address & entered it into Windows Live Mail but it won't or can't connect to the outlook server, it either gives an error code-(Error 800CCC90) or continually asks for usename/password.I've tried pop 3 & IMAP to no avail.PLease can anyone help?
