When trying to log into my PC, Windows prompts me to enter my Microsoft password. After having done that, it does not accept the password and says that it is incorrect. I know that password I entered is correct because I am able to log into my Microsoft account via the Internet with the same password.

I have even tried using the on-screen keyboard just to make sure that characters are not being typed incorrectly. I have also changed my password to a new one, and the same error message displays itself. The system also disables my ability to use the PIN for some reason, which error code is: 0x80090016. When I attempt to restore my PC with "System Restore", although I did not set one, when it asks me for my Microsoft password, it says that it is incorrect.

I am not sure if this is also a related error, but when trying to give a factory reset to the device, it does not go through because "something went wrong".

I know that I am not the only person with this issue, as I have read about users who are facing the same problem. These users are have also recently reported this issue, which might indicate that the issue is something new.

I am not sure what could be causing this headache of a problem, but if I had to guess, I think that for some reason the user credentials are not being updated on the device, in some aspect. "In some aspect" as sometimes the system accepts the password when I want to change the current password to a new password, but it declines the actual password, for example, when I try to log-in or try to "System Restore". I say this having a good connection to the Internet, so it's not simply a matter of the device not being able to update the user's credentials.

Thank you to whom ever can help.
