I use Windows 7 and Windows Media Center. I have purchased a new SSD and made a clean reinstallation of the OS to try to fix some repeated hangups. Everything fine so far except WMC reports no tuner available when asked to play or record an HD broadcast on Freeview DVB-T. My dual tuner card is definitely working as it is still good with the old OS installation. I can also watch HD channels with the new OS installation using different viewing software. WMC has identified all the HD channels when scanning the full spectrum, and the channel information for each HD channel shows the two tuners and the relevant frequency.
I seem to recall that there were some additional files required for WMC when HDTV first became available over Freeview several years ago, but cannot remember clearly if there actually was a problem at the time or what I did to fix it then.
Does anyone have any pointers on this problem, please?
