Windows 10 Windows Media Player lost its 4K HEVC playing ability

After updating to Windows 10 20H2, 4K video playback in Windows Media Player and some other applications stopped working. Media Player is not able to open it. Reinstalling HEVC paid extensions didn't help. Reinstalling Windows Media Player also didn't help. Movie & TV app can play the video without any troubles.

The size of HEVC Extension app on the problem PC is smaller (approx. 850 KB) than on a PC where everything works fine (6.53 MB). Any idea how to fix that? Thanks a lot.
