When I execute the following command on a standard Windows 10 installation, it shows the following:
w32tm /query /status
Leap Indicator: 0(no warning)
Stratum: 4 (secondary reference - syncd by (S)NTP)
Precision: -23 (119.209ns per tick)
Root Delay: 0.0267112s
Root Dispersion: 8.3455733s
ReferenceId: 0x3369D0AD (source IP: 51.105.208.173)
Last Successful Sync Time: 27/01/2021 13:40:35
Source: time.windows.com,0x9
Poll Interval: 10 (1024s)
Windows 10 implements full NTP functionality.
SNTP was used in legacy versions like Windows 2000 and older.
Why does it print "syncd by (S)NTP" then?
The implemented NTP standard is just depending on the client.
