My Lenovo laptop will BSOD whenever I install the, 2021-01 Cumulative update preview for windows 10 Version 1909 for x64 based systems KB4598298.
Things I have done,
1.Downloaded recovery image file from Lenovo and performed full system format/reinstall to factory recovery media image.
This got the system booting and working consistently for the first time from BNIB. Yes it BSOD out of the box new as updates were applied during the first sign in/boot process and by default does not have restore points enabled so no rollback was possible (Thanks Lenovo).
The system works perfectly without the above windows update installed.
Once installed the system will BSOD when connecting/disconnecting from WiFi (like when you boot up and log in) or turning flight mode on/off. Yes this is a Intel Wireless-AC 9462 driver incompatibility issue. However there is no driver available that works once you have installed the above update.
I have,
1. Tried using only the original driver installed from factory by Lenovo.
2. Using the newest driver installed through windows update service.
3. Using latest and all previous drivers available through Lenovo support.
4. Installing the latest and all previous drivers available directly from Intel.
All the available drivers result in BSOD once the windows update is installed.
Any suggestions? possible solutions?
