I'm trying to update to the Windows version 2004 since the insider builds, with no success.
Waited to this version become generally available, but still I can't make it work.
It apparently downloads all the packages and fails with Error 0x80070057 when reaching the end (that is, when >75% while installing).
I already went thru all the standard procedures one can find in QA sites and blogs, such as:
- Running: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Running: SFC.exe /scannow
- Renaming the "%windir%\SoftwareDistribution" folder
- Cleaning and tweaking some key/values in the registry (can't remember all)
- Freeing up (more) disk space (I have currently available > 150Gb of free disk space)
Now I've found this PowerShell cmdlet "Get-WindowsUpdateLog".
The last lines of this logs follows below (emphasis mine) :
