Windows 10 Windows Update insists it can't connext to the Update Service

On both Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 Essentials, I'm suffering from the same problem.Have read all the forums, clicked through dozens of help sites, and tried to manually download and update, all without success.The Windows 10 PC has been faithfully updating for years, but suddenly no go.The Server 2019 PC was recently reinstalled because of corrupt system files, but now it insists updates are controlled by Group Policy (I didn't ask for that on re-install) and I have no idea how to adjustthis requirement.
