Windows 11 Xbox game bar recording feature randomly shutting down

Basically, sometimes recording on Xbox game bar randomly shuts down and stops working (as in the buttons become greyed out and won’t work). One of the troubleshooting fixes on the official site is to go to settings and turn it on but when I go to settings>gaming>captures, the settings app freezes until I close it. Restarting my PC sometimes solves this but I’d rather have access to recording a clip when I need it rather than have to restart everything first.
