Windows 11 Xbox wireless adapter not working properly on windows 11

My Xbox wireless adapter is plugged into my pc and is paired with my xbox elite series 2 controller. When I play call of duty the connection often disconnects. It only happens on call of duty and hasn’t ever happened on another game (although most other games i play are less intense to run). I was just wondering if there was a fix to this as i understand this problem is very niche.
